The GACA is a pro-family grassroots organization who represents Georgia’s families in the legislature, the press, and in the arena of public debate. Referred to as “Georgia’s most powerful Christian lobbying group” by the Marietta Daily Journal, the Georgia Christian Alliance is a non-partisan, issue oriented organization.
Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports...The mere politician ought to respect and to cherish them...Let is simply be asked, Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert?  And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion.  Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds...reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail, in exclusion of religious principle.

~ President George Washington

1st US President 1789-97

Charles Finney, a minister and leader in America's Second Great Awakening once said:

The Church must take right ground in regard to politics.... The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men and take consistent ground in politics... God cannot sustain this free and blessed country which we love and pray for unless the Church will take right ground. Politics are a part of a religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as a part of their duty to God.... God will bless or curse this nation according to the course Christians take in politics.

We believe that, through effective grassroots organization and through encouraging activism by conservative Christians, we can bring this country back to its Judeo-Christian roots and to the traditional values that made America great. You can help in this effort through a number of ways. Whether you want to become a chapter leader, give financial support, assist in the distribution of voter guides in your church and community, or volunteer at the State Headquarters, the Georgia Christian Alliance needs you!

The many ways you can participate include:

  • Serve as a contact person, or liaison, in your church.
  • Assist in the distribution of non-partisan Voter Guides and Scorecards in your church or community at election time.
  • Help start a local chapter in your area if one does not already exist.
  • Make a financial contribution.

In the past few years, we have seen radical departure from the Judeo-Christian principles which were and are the foundation of our country and our government. Never in our country's history have we seen such an all-out attack on religion, Christian values, and families. If we act now, we have a tremendous opportunity to change this country and state for the better. The Georgia
Christian Alliance and its over 60,000 members and activists in Georgia would like you to join in this effort. Some of the things that we are doing as an organization to turn the tide include:

  • Distribute several hundred thousand voter guides in churches and communities prior an election that informs citizens about the stands candidates take on the issues.
  • Distribute Scorecards that show how elected officials voted on various issues and thus hold them accountable to their constituency.
  • Sponsor voter registration drives in churches.
  • Inform voters through our Internet newsletter, “Keeping The Faith,” on issues that need grassroots action.
  • Lobby the state legislature.
  • Encourage activism on a local level through the dissemination of our information.
None of this would be possible without the support and action of people like you who are concerned with the state of our nation, and want to do something about it! Please join us by signing up to receive our Internet newsletter, “Keeping The Faith,” volunteering to distribute our Voter Guides and Scorecards, becoming a Church Liaison, and by partnering with us financially. We receive no funding from the national organization and are totally dependent on fellow Georgians to financially support the work that we do.

There are many benefits to joining the Georgia Christian Alliance, the Greatest of which is the knowledge that you are doing something to remedy the problems facing our state and our nation.
  • Join the Georgia Christian Alliance mailing list
  • Become a church liaison
  • Help distribute voter guides and scorecards
  • Make a donation

Biography: Sadie Fields
Sadie Fields has worked in Christian activism for the past 20 years. Her first position was with the Christian Film and Television Commission, a ministry that monitors the effects of violence and sex on children in movies and on television, where she was involved in fund raising and public relations.

In 1993, Sadie entered the political arena and served as state director for a presidential candidate and field director on three other statewide campaigns – including two for governor and one for U. S. Senate.

In 1997 she was asked to serve as the State Chairman of the Christian Coalition of Georgia and remains in that position today. In October 2006, the name was changed to Georgia Christian Alliance. The mission and purpose of the organization remains the same.

Her “Keeping The Faith” internet newsletter reaches several thousand people around the state and includes action alerts regarding legislation as well as updates and editorials on issues that are timely and important to Christians. Sadie has appeared on numerous television and radio news shows, and her editorials have been published in newspapers around the state. She has also been interviewed by Japanese, Austrian, Canadian and British television regarding Christian involvement in the American political arena.

She is frequently called upon to participate in roundtable discussions with various think tanks regarding Christian involvement in government, and speaks with regularity to church groups, civic and political groups and in Christian schools. She has also been invited to speak at several of the universities in Georgia, including Emory University, Oglethorpe University and Agnes Scott College.

In 2004, the Christian Coalition of Georgia successfully spearheaded the effort to have the Georgia Marriage Amendment placed on the ballot so that Georgians could have a voice in how marriage is defined in our state. The amendment passed overwhelmingly with 76% of all Georgians voting to keep marriage defined as being between one man and one woman.

In 2005 Sadie was named by James Magazine and Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the 100 most influential Georgians, and again in 2006 by James Magazine.

She resides in Marietta, GA and is a member of the Church of the Apostles. Sadie is the mother of 3 and the grandmother of 8.
